I agree. I don't think a clear out is what's needed. I just think it needs to be managed in a way that everyone knows what's going on right from the start of the season rather than a panic situation a day or two before each match.

Don't forget that some will qualify from the interleague

Re: England Team Members
I think that if they are member of an england squad they have to be given a place in a counties squad
Possibly in the a team if an adult
I believe there is also a rule which requires them to play 50% of a counties matches

Someone will surely put me right on some of these points

I forgot about the interleague getting county slots. With this in mind, there is definitely no need to lower the points from 120. After the last match, we should have enough players over 120 points plus the top interleague players that would like to take their spots.
Trials can go ahead as normal and there's your county squad sorted.

Trials will be a good January.

The 50% rule is definately correct for England Criteria, but if Surreys own policy was that they expected 100% attendance (I know that wont happen, just an eg.), would this take precedent.

I am pretty sure you are right in saying that Englands rules would take precedent and the County would have to offer a place. Saying that you would be in a bit of a mess if you had 5-6 players playing for England, and all they did was turned up to 50% of the games.

I presume I dont requalify with my one frame win and 10 points then.

Based on your previous years you've given to the county mate, i'm pretty sure you would get a wild card.
You back next year Shags ?

I think the whole England thing is 50% attendance rather than 50% matches played.

As long as the player is there they could be an un-used sub and still meet the EPA rules. Not that you would have an England player on the bench very often but I think the Counties are allowed to pick their own teams as they see fit.

Anyway, as far as I thought the discussions went after the last match we are looking for ways to get our best players playing as often as possible not working out how to get them a minimum amount to meet other criteria.

Probably 2017. I don't want to return until I can properly commit.
