The Ladies travelled to Chatham to take on the current National Champions on their home turf. An back injury meant that Diane Jeffery was unable to make the game at short notice. The ladies were left with a squad of twelve to face Kent Ladies bare 11.
Surrey Ladies were determined to put the long losing streak to the Kent ladies behind them and with Kent not being able to field their strongest side this was the chance to finally do it.
Surrey Ladies had a nightmare first session and found themselves with three frames to Kent's eight. Not the best of starts and from there things just got worse. Surrey Ladies didn't have much run however, a lot of chances were missed which resulted in a score of 15-7 at the end of the second session.
At this point it was almost as if the team had given up hope with only another 7 frames being awarded throughout the rest of the match which left a score of 30-14 to Kent. Surrey's worse record against Kent in years!
The Ladies need to put a much better performance in against London next match if they wish to secure a place at the National Championships next year.
3/4's for Candy Wright and Lisa Peek with Candy being awarded player of the match.
Well done Candy an excellent performance.
